Montgomery County Public Schools: New Program for Elementary Students Designed to Help Close Achievement Gap

On July 20, MCPS and county government officials gathered at Weller Road ES to celebrate the successful launch of the Building Educated Leaders for Life (BELL) program. BELL is a five-week summer program for second and third grade students that is designed to help close the achievement gap. The program focuses on literacy, math and hands-on enrichment activities. The program is a partnership among MCPS, county government and the Norman and Ruth Rales Foundation. The program will serve 4,200 students over four years.
