Thirteen Deb Knez Fellows Honored for Extraordinary Work

BOSTON, MA - February 20, 2013 - Thirteen teachers, tutors, and teaching assistants were honored as Deb Knez Fellows for their extraordinary work with our scholars. The Fellows work in the BELL After School program at the Kenny, Mather, Mattahunt, Orchard Gardens, and Young Achievers Schools in Boston. The Knez Fellows enjoyed a career-building workshop and networking program with guests who have been teachers, principals, non-profit leaders, education policy specialists, and professors in local institutions of higher education. Guests included Lauri Johnson and Thaly Germain, both former teachers and principals and current heads of education leadership programs at Boston College; Anne Whittredge, a retired principal and currently a principal coach in Boston and professor at Simmons College; Jess Banks, a former Teacher for America teacher and current program director and trainer at BELL; Garrett Smith, a Managing Director with District Management Council; and Tiffany Cooper Gueye, CEO here at BELL. Special thanks to the Knez Family for their generous support of this fellowship program. Congratulations to this year's Deb Knez Fellows and our deep appreciation for all they do every day to inspire and educate our scholars.
