BELL Selected for New Index of Top-Performing Nonprofits
BOSTON - November 27, 2012 - BELL (Building Educated Leaders for Life) was recently chosen to be a part of the S&I 100 Index, the first-ever broad index of U.S. nonprofits that have evidence of results and are ready to grow. The Index helps high-impact nonprofits find the capital they need to reach more people, and empowers donors to make a bigger difference.
"BELL is thrilled to be a part of the S&1 100," explains Tiffany Cooper Gueye, Ph.D., BELL's Chief Executive Officer. "Thanks to generous support from growth capital donors, BELL launched an ambitious growth plan last year and served more scholars, schools, and communities than ever before. But we still have a ways to go to until we meet our matching funds and impact goals, and the S&I 100 will help us get there by making it easier for donors who share our mission to invest in BELL and help us expand learning time for the scholars who need it most."
The S&I 100 Index is an initiative of the Social Impact Exchange, a national membership association dedicated to building a capital marketplace that scales proven solutions to improve the lives of millions. More than 150 experts participated in a cross-sector collaborative effort to identify and assess nonprofits across issues related to education, health, youth, and poverty.
Last year, BELL won the Social Impact Exchange's annual Business Plan Competition.
